Departure Marrakech
Day 01: Marrakech – Arrival Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
Day 02: Marrakech – Ouarzazate After taking breakfast we head directly to Ouarzazate, then climbing over the High Atlas mountains using the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. We will stop to admire the panoramic views. We we’ll stop to visit the famous films’ studios, just outside Ouarzazate, where parts of “Lawrence of Arabia” were filmed. We dine and stay the night at hotel.
Day 03: Ouarzazate – Zagora After breakfast we drive towards Zagora, passing through the Draa valley with its large palm plantations. On the way we’ll stop at the old village of Tamgroute, a centre of learning, where there is a library(in Arabic – Khizana Habsia). The village is also famous for its green pottery. We shall visit a workshop. We will also make a stop at the dunes at Tinfou before dining and staying at a hotel overnight.
Day 04: Zagora – Merzouga after breakfast we make our way towards Merzouga passing by Tazzarine and Alnif. We visit the ksours and kasbahs of Rissani as well as the mausoleum of Moulay Ali ash-Cherif, the founder of the Alawite dynasty. In the afternoon we continue to the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, where we will watch the sunset before dining in nomad tents or an “auberge”.
Day 05: Merzouga – Tour of dunes And surrounding area After breakfast we travel to the Tissradmine oasis , then to the village of Merdani. We visit the lead mine at Mfis and then the village of Khamliya, inhabited by people who are originated from sub-saharan Senegal. They dance with their Gnawa music. Going via the palm plantations, we dine and stay at a hotel.
Day 06: Merzouga – Ouarzazate Departing after breakfast we visit the town of Erfoud, where we will visit a fossil processing plant. We head towards Tinghir and the famous Todra Gorge. We visit Boumalne Dades and then the city of Kalaat M’gouna,it is famous for its production of pink roses. We dine and stay overnight at a hotel in Ouarzazate. Day 07: Ouarzazate – Marrakech After taking breakfast , we drive to Ouarzazate, spending time at the Kasbahs of Taourirte and Tafaltoute. In the afternoon we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage site at the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. Then we drive over the High Atlas mountains using the Tizi-n-Tichka pass to arrive to Marrakech for dinner at the hotel.
Day 08: Marrakech – Tour of city After taking breakfast we will make a tour to see the sights of Marrakech. We will visit the Medina, the Koutoubia tower and the magnificent Bahia Palace. In the afternoon we’ll visit the peaceful setting of Yves St Laurent’s Jardin Majorelle. Then to the hustle and bustle of the Jamaa Elfna market squar and its surrounding alleyways. Dinner will be at the hotel.
Day 09: Marrakech – Departure You will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight home.
